Incident reported at southwest Bexar County gas station

A man was arrested in connection with an alleged assault at a gas station in southwest Bexar County where a woman was reported to have been attacked while holding her infant, the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said.

The arrest stems from an incident reported on March 7, 2026, at a gas station near the 16565 block of Shepherd Road. Deputies were dispatched after receiving a report of an assault involving a woman and a child.

What investigators say happened

Deputies said the call involved a domestic dispute. During a verbal argument, the woman attempted to leave and seek safety. Witnesses told investigators they saw the suspect, identified as Juan Cisneros, grab the woman by the hair and throw her to the ground while she was still holding her 3-month-old child.

Witnesses described the woman as extremely shaken after the incident and said the suspect continued yelling at her while she was on the ground, deputies said.

Witnesses told deputies the woman was thrown to the ground while still holding her infant.

Suspect allegedly fled before deputies arrived

Investigators said Cisneros left the scene before deputies arrived, reportedly driving away in a gray Ford Fusion.

Following an investigation, deputies located Cisneros and took him into custody, authorities said.

Charges and booking information

Cisneros was booked into the Bexar County Adult Detention Center, deputies said. He faces two charges:

  • Assault family violence
  • Abandoning or endangering a child

What is known and what remains unclear

Authorities have not publicly released the names of the woman or child. Details such as the relationship between the suspect and the victim, whether the child was physically injured, and whether additional charges could be filed were not provided in the information released.

The case remains an active criminal matter in the early stages following the arrest, and the allegations will be tested through the court process.
