Search underway for missing man with medical conditions
Bexar County Sheriff’s Office deputies are asking for public help locating Cecil Simmons, 61, who has been reported missing after last being seen in early January in west Bexar County.
Investigators said Simmons was last seen on January 3, 2026, when he left a family member’s residence on foot in the 13900 block of Pinkston. Deputies described him as having medical conditions that require treatment and said he is not currently on a treatment plan.
Description and last known clothing
Deputies described Simmons as 5 feet 11 inches tall with brown eyes and black hair. The last known clothing description provided by investigators was a light-colored polo shirt and shorts.
Areas where he may be located
In the days and weeks after the reported disappearance, the sheriff’s office has focused attention on areas where Simmons is believed to spend time. Deputies said Simmons is homeless and is known to be on the Northwest Side of San Antonio near U.S. Highway 90 and Military Drive West.
Investigators also said he is known to be in the Bandera Road and Loop 1604 area. Authorities have not released additional details on a possible destination or the direction of travel after he left Pinkston, and no vehicle information has been associated with the report.
