Four arrested after alleged armed robbery at San Antonio game room included gunfire inside business
Robbery reported at northwest San Antonio game room
San Antonio police arrested four people after an early-morning armed robbery at a game room on the city’s northwest side in which a gun was fired inside the business, authorities said. No injuries were reported.
The incident occurred at about 6:40 a.m. Friday at Spin to Win Game Room, 5205 Fredericksburg Road near Callaghan Road. Investigators said surveillance video showed two masked men entering while customers and staff were inside, then holding employees at gunpoint and demanding money.
Gunfire toward restroom door, police say
During the robbery, one person ran into a rear restroom and refused to come out. Investigators said a suspect fired a shot toward the restroom door. Police reported that no one was struck by the gunfire.
Investigators said the suspects assaulted the on-duty security guard and took his firearm before moving deeper into the business. Police said the suspects then pointed a weapon at customers and demanded money.
The owner said the business recovered its cash and property after the arrests.
Traffic stop led to arrests and recovery of property
Police said that within roughly 45 minutes of the robbery, an officer stopped a black Dodge Charger on the city’s East Side. Investigators said three men inside the vehicle had clothing consistent with what was seen on surveillance footage. Police reported recovering firearms, backpacks, and the stolen cash register from the car.
Authorities said the cash taken in the robbery was recovered. The game room owner estimated the take at about $15,000.
Security guard accused of helping plan the robbery
Investigators said the game room’s security guard, identified as 32-year-old Riondo Lozell Murphy, is accused of helping orchestrate the robbery. Police said two of the suspects told investigators the guard had communicated with them before the incident and advised them about when to target the business.
Investigators said call logs provided during questioning supported the alleged communications. Police also said the suspects identified Murphy from a photo shown to them by authorities.
Charges and what happens next
Police reported that Murphy and three other suspects were arrested.
Authorities said the case involves multiple robbery-related charges.
As of the latest available information, it was not clear whether Murphy had legal representation who could comment on his behalf.
The investigation remains active as detectives continue reviewing surveillance footage and witness statements to clarify each suspect’s role, police said.
