What is changing in KSAT’s morning programming

KSAT-TV in San Antonio is restructuring its late-morning weekday lineup, adding an expanded local food program and shifting the placement of its lifestyle show. The changes are scheduled to take effect Monday, March 2, 2026.

Under the new schedule, the station’s food franchise Texas Eats will air Monday through Friday from 10 to 10:30 a.m. The program, hosted by David Elder, has previously been a weekend feature. KSAT will continue to carry Texas Eats in its existing weekend time periods, including its Saturday slot and a Sunday evening replay.

Immediately after the weekday Texas Eats broadcast, KSAT’s lifestyle program SA Live will air from 10:30 to 11 a.m. The station has positioned the shift as an expansion of local, community-focused programming in the morning hours rather than a reduction of news content.

How the updated lineup fits around GMSA and streaming

Good Morning San Antonio (GMSA) will remain part of the station’s morning block, including its 9 a.m. hour. KSAT has also highlighted that these programs can be viewed through its KSAT+ streaming offering, reflecting an ongoing effort by local broadcasters to distribute live and on-demand programming across both traditional television and station-owned digital platforms.

Station messaging: emphasis on local content

KSAT leadership has framed the lineup adjustments around an emphasis on local storytelling, with a focus on culture and community interests. Expanding a food-focused franchise into a daily weekday window places it in a time period that is often used by stations for syndicated or lifestyle programming, and it adds a recurring, locally produced segment to the late-morning schedule.

Recent KSAT on-air moves provide context

The programming announcement arrives amid a period of personnel and scheduling changes across the San Antonio television market, including KSAT. In 2024, the station announced a weekday co-host addition for GMSA, and it also shifted SA Live into a morning timeslot that same year. In 2025, KSAT announced additional anchor role changes, including a move involving its weekday noon newscast and a separate announcement about evening newscast anchoring.

While these updates involve different dayparts, together they illustrate a broader pattern of schedule and staffing adjustments as stations refine newscasts and locally produced programming across broadcast and streaming distribution.

  • Effective date: March 2, 2026

  • Texas Eats (weekdays): 10 to 10:30 a.m.

  • SA Live (weekdays): 10:30 to 11 a.m.

  • Texas Eats (weekends): Saturday airing continues; Sunday evening replay continues

KSAT has presented the shift as an expansion of locally produced content in its morning schedule, adding a daily food franchise and repositioning lifestyle programming into a consistent late-morning block.
