Seven-vehicle rollover crash in far West San Antonio sends four people to hospitals for evaluation

Crash involving emergency response vehicle triggers chain-reaction wreck
A multi-vehicle rollover crash on San Antonio’s far West Side sent four people to hospitals after a collision that involved a San Antonio Fire Department engine and a commercial delivery truck. Officials said the incident unfolded the morning of Friday, Feb. 20, 2026, near the intersection of Marbach Road and Military Drive West.
Authorities said a fire engine was responding to a medical call with emergency lights and siren activated when it entered the intersection and collided with a delivery truck. The impact set off a chain reaction involving additional vehicles, leaving multiple cars damaged and at least one commercial vehicle overturned.
What officials confirmed about injuries and patient transport
Officials said three civilian drivers were transported to area hospitals with minor injuries for evaluation. In addition, four firefighters who were riding in the fire engine were also taken to a hospital as a precaution under department protocol, with no injuries reported among the firefighters.
Officials emphasized that despite the severity of the crash scene, no major injuries were reported.
Vehicles involved and scene conditions
Police and fire officials described a scene involving several passenger vehicles in addition to the fire engine and the delivery truck. A pickup and multiple sedans were among the vehicles damaged. Some vehicles were able to leave the scene under their own power, while others required towing.
Wrecker crews were brought in to separate and remove damaged vehicles, a process that took several hours. The collision caused significant traffic disruption in the area as investigators and recovery crews worked the scene.
What remains under investigation
The circumstances leading to the initial impact remain under review. Investigators are examining the sequence of movements through the intersection, right-of-way conditions, and the actions of drivers immediately before the collision. Officials said the investigation was ongoing, and it was not immediately clear which agency would take the lead through the final determination of fault.
At the scene, officials indicated that charges were not expected at that early stage, noting that the inquiry was still developing.
Safety reminders highlighted after the crash
