Policy targets evening hours and applies to all ticket types

Six Flags Fiesta Texas has reinstated an evening chaperone requirement for younger guests, expanding a rule that had previously been used during limited seasonal operations. The policy took effect Friday, March 21, 2025, and applies to all visitors regardless of whether they enter with single-day tickets or season passes.

Under the rule, guests ages 15 and younger must be accompanied by a chaperone who is at least 21 years old to enter or remain in the park starting at 4 p.m. through closing time. Park materials also indicate the park may begin enforcing the requirement earlier on any given day.

What the rule requires—and what happens without a chaperone

The chaperone must present a valid government-issued photo identification showing date of birth. Park policy materials specify that photos of IDs are not accepted for entry verification. A single chaperone may accompany no more than 10 guests ages 15 and younger per day, and chaperones must remain in the park with their group and be reachable by phone during the visit.

Guests who attempt to enter or stay in the park during the enforcement window without a qualifying chaperone are not permitted to do so. The policy also allows for removal of minors who are found inside the park without a chaperone once the rule is in effect.

  • Age covered: 15 and younger
  • Chaperone minimum age: 21
  • Enforcement time: 4 p.m. to close (with earlier enforcement possible)
  • Chaperone-to-minor ratio: 1 adult per up to 10 minors per day
  • ID requirement: physical, government-issued photo ID; photos not accepted

Why the park says it is making the change

Fiesta Texas has framed the decision as a response to behavior concerns at large entertainment venues, citing an increase in “unruly and inappropriate behavior” as a key driver of the rule’s return. The park has also positioned the policy as a measure intended to maintain a family-friendly environment as it anticipates heavier attendance during peak periods.

How it fits into broader park security trends

Evening chaperone policies have become more common across major amusement and entertainment venues in recent years, particularly during high-traffic nights and seasonal events. At Fiesta Texas, the approach mirrors a prior version used during Fright Fest operations in 2024—when the chaperone requirement was tied to event nights—while the 2025 version shifts to a daily evening enforcement model.

Fiesta Texas’ updated rules create an age-and-time threshold: younger teens can visit independently earlier in the day, but must have a verified adult chaperone for evening hours.

The park has not provided a public end date for the policy’s enforcement, leaving its duration open-ended as the season progresses.
