Spurs rally past Warriors 126-113 at Chase Center, extending streak to six before All-Star break

San Antonio closes strong after trailing by 16 in third quarter
The San Antonio Spurs entered the All-Star break with a 126-113 road victory over the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night, Feb. 11, at Chase Center in San Francisco. San Antonio improved to 38-16 and won its sixth straight game, while Golden State fell to 29-26.
The Spurs’ comeback was built on a decisive swing after Golden State controlled long stretches early. The Warriors led 38-31 after the first quarter and pushed the margin to 16 points in the third. San Antonio cut the deficit to four by halftime, then absorbed an early third-quarter burst before responding with a 24-8 run to close the period and tie the score at 94.
Fox and Wembanyama anchor the turnaround
De’Aaron Fox led San Antonio with 27 points, eight assists and three steals, while Victor Wembanyama added 26 points, nine rebounds and two blocks. Keldon Johnson provided 21 points off the bench, giving San Antonio a third 20-point scorer and additional creation when Golden State’s defense loaded up on the primary actions.
In the fourth quarter, the Spurs separated with a 32-19 advantage, turning a tied game into a double-digit win. Wembanyama’s activity on both ends was central to the late push, as San Antonio’s defense tightened and its offense consistently generated pressure at the rim and inside the arc.
Interior control and extra possessions tilt the numbers
Beyond the headline scorers, the game turned on the Spurs’ ability to win the paint and extend possessions. San Antonio finished with a 60-42 edge in points in the paint and collected 14 offensive rebounds, repeatedly creating second-chance opportunities that blunted Golden State’s perimeter-oriented start.
- San Antonio outscored Golden State by 13 points in the fourth quarter.
- The Spurs’ paint production and offensive rebounding helped offset Golden State’s early three-point rhythm.
- San Antonio won the matchup after having lost the first two meetings between the teams this season.
Warriors compete short-handed as Curry remains out
Golden State was again without Stephen Curry, sidelined by a knee injury. Draymond Green led the Warriors with 17 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists, while De’Anthony Melton and Moses Moody each scored 17. The Warriors’ best stretches came when their ball movement and early-clock shooting created open looks, but the late-game execution faltered as San Antonio’s physicality increased and the Spurs gained control of the interior.
By the break, the Spurs’ combination of star production, paint dominance and extra possessions had flipped a 16-point third-quarter deficit into a 13-point win.
San Antonio’s next game is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 19, when it hosts the Phoenix Suns in Austin. Golden State is also set to return Thursday, Feb. 19, at home against the Boston Celtics.
