Two homicide investigations intersect after suspect in 2025 teen killing is found dead
A man found fatally shot inside a vehicle on San Antonio’s West Side over the weekend had been sought in connection with the 2025 killing of 17-year-old Alianna Nicole Ujueta, according to authorities handling the two investigations. The death, discovered early Saturday, is being investigated as a homicide.
Police located the man inside a vehicle in the 10000 block of Tiger Field. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators later identified him as Deshawn Suggs, 19. Authorities said Suggs had been the subject of an active murder warrant stemming from Ujueta’s death in southwest Bexar County.
With the cases now overlapping, two agencies are working parallel investigations: the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office continues to handle the probe into Ujueta’s killing, while the San Antonio Police Department is leading the investigation into the West Side shooting. Officials said the agencies are coordinating as the circumstances of Suggs’ death may intersect with the earlier homicide case.

Ujueta was killed in the early hours of Sept. 28, 2025, during what investigators described as a party on Luckey Road near Von Ormy. Deputies responded to reports of a shooting and found the teenager in the roadway with a gunshot wound to the head. She was pronounced dead at the scene, and the Bexar County Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide.
Investigators said a fight broke out at the gathering and escalated into violence. A witness reported that the confrontation spilled into the street, where Ujueta was shot and then run over by a pickup truck as people fled. Deputies recovered evidence at the scene that included spent shell casings and personal items.
