Search centers on North Side neighborhood after early-morning disappearance

Bexar County deputies are searching for a missing 16-year-old girl who was last seen early Monday, March 9, 2026, after leaving her home on San Antonio’s North Side. Authorities issued a public call for information as the search continued into the day.

The teenager, Jasyln Garcia, was last seen at about 12:45 a.m. leaving a residence in the 14000 block of Silos Meadow. Investigators said she is believed to have been in the company of a male juvenile at the time she disappeared.

Description released to help public identify the missing teen

Deputies described Garcia as a White/Hispanic female, approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall and about 120 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. Authorities also noted a noticeable mole on her chin as a distinguishing feature.

She was last seen wearing:

  • a black hoodie with a Miranda cover image on the front
  • a maroon shirt underneath
  • blue jeans
  • white-and-black New Balance shoes

How authorities are asking the community to respond

Officials urged anyone who may have seen Garcia, has information about her whereabouts, or may have knowledge of who she was with to contact the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office at 210-335-6000. Tips can also be sent to the agency’s Missing Persons Unit by email at [email protected].

Authorities warned that anyone found harboring or hiding the missing juvenile could face criminal charges.

What is known—and what remains unclear

As of Monday, deputies had not released information indicating whether foul play is suspected, nor had they provided details about any potential destination, vehicle, or digital trail. Investigators also have not disclosed the nature of the relationship between Garcia and the male juvenile believed to be with her.

In cases involving missing juveniles, early tips—such as sightings, security-camera footage from nearby homes or businesses, and any relevant information from rideshare, social media, or messaging activity—can help investigators establish a timeline and identify locations for follow-up searches.

The sheriff’s office has asked residents to focus on verified, specific information and to report it directly to investigators.
