Bexar County deputies seek help locating missing 17-year-old last seen near Historic Market Square Monday morning
Search underway after teen last seen near 1100 block of West Commerce Street
Bexar County deputies are asking the public for help locating a missing 17-year-old girl who was last seen Monday morning near San Antonio’s Historic Market Square.
Authorities identified the teen as Briana Alexis Guerra. She was last seen around 8 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2026, in the 1100 block of West Commerce Street, a corridor that runs alongside the Bexar County Jail and sits near the Market Square area. Deputies said she was wearing a blue shirt, denim shorts and blue Crocs. They also stated she does not have a cell phone.
Investigators described Guerra as 5 feet 6 inches tall, about 130 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She has a tattoo of a marigold flower with Roman numerals on her left arm. Family members have also described her as having a nose piercing.
Timeline and circumstances
Details released in the initial missing-person alert focused on where and when Guerra was last seen and how to report information. Additional reporting by local media has described a sequence of events leading up to her last confirmed appearance near the jail area early Monday, including family concerns about her mental health and her separation from personal items.
Those circumstances have not been presented as a criminal allegation against any specific person. Deputies have not publicly detailed where Guerra was headed after she was last seen or whether she left the area on foot or by vehicle.
What authorities are asking the public to do
Deputies are requesting tips from anyone who may have seen Guerra near West Commerce Street, downtown streets surrounding Market Square, or nearby businesses and parking areas during the morning hours of March 2. People who live or work in the area are also being asked to review home or business surveillance video that may capture sidewalks, parking lots or street traffic.
- Call the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office at 210-335-6000 with information.
- Contact the Missing Persons Unit by email at [email protected].
Deputies also warned that anyone who knowingly harbors or hides a missing person could face criminal charges.
Why early tips matter
Missing-person investigations typically rely on time-sensitive information—confirmed sightings, video footage, and details about clothing and distinguishing marks—to narrow search areas quickly. Authorities urged anyone with direct knowledge of Guerra’s location to report it immediately so investigators can assess her safety and determine next steps.
This story will be updated as additional verified details are released by authorities.
